Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital,
recognizing a significant need for
pediatric mental health treatment in
the Western and Central Florida region,
created the Center for Behavioral Health
with a mission to meet that need. human
eXperience and HDR were engaged to
provide comprehensive programming
and concept design services to help
JHACH envision the full potential for the
CBH.
human eXperience is working with the CBH team and hospital leadership to evaluate the potential for a significant Behavioral health tower to provide the full continuum of care to their patients including acute inpatient, residential treatment, crisis stabilization, PHP, IOP, outpatient and psychiatric emergency services. hX’s services include comprehensive data analysis to determine bed need, financial viability and optimal mix of services to feed into a business plan for the new facility.
In addition, hX is providing full programming services to create functional programs for each department including departmental and room by room areas, adjacency diagrams, conceptual planning, and preliminary project budgeting to coordinate with a proposed staffing plan, return on investment projections and donor opportunities.
The operational planning and programming are being coordinated with HDR who has been engaged to provide conceptual visioning for a new tower to house the CBH program. The combination of HDR designers and behavioral health experts with the operational and programming expertise provided by human eXperience is generating an exciting, innovative new program that will provide leadership in the treatment of pediatric mental illness along with providing training for the staff that will work at this and other providers in the area and beyond.
